[Sven]

A busy day at the track last weekend, with sixteen drivers competing on Sunday to test the final setups for the upcoming GT Club series. Before, the setups for the Porsche and Lotus were considered difficult to say the least, shown by the number of spins involving both cars. Last Sunday they managed to behave, with podium spots for both of them in nearly every race.

Despite the dominance of the Corvette on the straights, the Porsche's overall capability and the Lotus' advantage in the corners will likely make for interesting battles during the next few months. MinDer K. won the Eighties Elite series with ease, but the Frenchman didn't have much luck in the first round of GT Club. A disappointing qualifying session was followed by a bunch of incidents in the races, forcing him to let Zombie-79- (also Corvette) take 147 points for current first place.

While the Evora and 911 didn't score well in qualifying, they were more competitive in the races, despite being an easy prey on the straights. A small selection of the racing below!

Despite the Lotus not being quite up to par with the Corvette at Laguna, Sven surprised friends and foes by taking the top spot in qualifying at Tor Poznan. An unlucky tap by mr_urlauber in the second heat saw him out of chances for a record run, but nevertheless 144 points were taken by the Dutchman.

While Edtheshed was also out for a quality drive, the Brit just can't help losing positions in the last laps, as was once again proven this time. Also another suprising performance again by Offcorsa, who is starting to further solidify his rank as the top pro-am drive, while also helping Team Jake into the lead.

Not having won a single race heat yet, Zombie-79- still went into the racing at Spa as the championship leader. Just like Laguna Seca (three times second), this time again he managed three podiums; third, second, and his first heat win! Congrats!

As expected on the long and more power focused Spa, the Corvettes made up much of the front row. Despite a two second difference not saying that much on a 2:45-ish lap time, the likes of Sven, edtheshed and S4b1n couldn't get near the 2:44's the Corvette could run.

With Bolt Racing suffering low positions in the team standings since it was resurrected, its captain Edtheshed is also rarely among the top finishers at the end of a series. Despite that, the Brit took full advantage of Sven being taken out in the second heat and takes a heavy 144 point.

Less lucky was mr_urlauber, who couldn't continue his recently impressive streak of 130-plus points and settled with only 127 this week, dropping his team Zombie Force down from the top spot. Apart from the major crash in the second heat racing was mostly spectacularly close and without major incidents!

The Corvette driver not only managed to stay out of trouble for most of the time, he also got in some decent points. Series leader Zombie-79- meanwhile pulled off an impressive performance again with no less than 148 points!

On the other end the Lotuses seemed to be struggling, with stellar driving held back by serious losses of control resulting in a few 180's and a lot of time and position loss.

Bolt Racing manages to get two drivers on the grid again for the third time in a row, with this result moving them up the team ladder one spot. Lots of exciting battles below!

Zombie-79- continues to impress with another 147 points. Already in the first heat the highly anticipated battle between the Brit and MinDer K was a true demonstration of pace, race craft and consistency. 

The most talked about moment in this race however was not the battle between the two championship leaders, but a mistake from Sven failing to find out that there was another lap to race, resulting in the Dutchman finishing tenth.

The fight for a lot of positions is on, but one fight is over! Zombie-79- clinched enough points to take the overall championship! Congrats! Meanwhile, the fight for third overall is heating up. Dimavika (706), Sven (704) and Offcorsa (701) can all still take this spot, so next week's performance might be decisive. 

In the teams Zombie Force is still leading, but by only 3 points! For third place FM Competizione can still beat Dark Wolf Competition, where fifth and sixth isn't decided neither, as U.P.P. and Bolt Racing are only five points apart!

With the team battle for the championship being the main course for this race, the Am championship was also still wide open. After a few strong laps from the Corvette pack Sven managed to blast in a 1:27.457 to take the top spot ahead of no less than six Corvettes.

The first race the Dutchman had only one minor lapse of concentration, which was just enough for MinDer to crawl by and take the lead. Despite constant pressure he didn't give it away anymore. Notable improvement from S4b1n as well, who started the race without a single lap of qualifying.

The second heat was quickly decided when MinDer and Zombie came together which sent the latter off track. A risky return resulted in a collision with Sven, after which all three cars lost positions. MinDer managed to fight back to second behind Dimavika, but the others had to settle for sixth and seventh.

The third heat was decided by a quick fight between Zombie and Sven. Sven put in some stellar laps to get an advantage and see it out to the finish line. Meanwhile S4b1n managed again to sneak closer to the podium, which was filled up by Zombie and MinDer K!
