I have had to roll back to driver 388.59 (as advised on Oculus Support homepage). No display in headset with latest driver  Edit - actually it appears to be an issue with not being in the beta 2.0........

there you go. Don't watch heat 3, in heat 2 was all the fun with ed trying desperately to pass
Expected to be toast with the practice server up and likely many taking a few laps since this is a track we hadn't raced before, where I didn't have much time nor motivation to get on the server this week. Turned out everything was still fine, although I was a bit helped by some unfortunate incidents.
Also scuzi for my off track excursion on the first lap, first heat. Bumped into urlauber, or the other way around.. Should've braked a bit more to stay away, but at that point I probably thought there wasn't enough space. Heat 2 was pushing to make sure I could at least get the lead. Then MinDer chased me down for a lap or four, but screwed up on lap 8, so I could drive it home.. Good points offcorsa as well! Heat 3 was from the back (ok, 8th..), but some collisions helped in getting to the front. Brake feinted Barry into an error, or was he just confused?  Then ed posed a final threat. Thought I had him on two occasions, but couldn't keep it together, and the straight just wasn't long enough.. +0.255 Good fun!

last turn and the one just before... over a crest, blind, off-camber, then throw it left and hope you don't run wide. BIG air! really enjoying this car though, so lively, but catchable. first heat was pretty good, started fourth. moved to second when minder made a mistake early, then later in the race he was alongside, I played it cautious and gave him the corner. which let a Porsche (Barry, I think) through as well. finished fourth second heat was more interesting, ran slightly wide off the start, dropped down to 10th, made two nice passes in the next few laps then held on to finish 6th. would have been higher but Ed and MrUrlauber were having a great tussle in front of me and I didn't want to spoil the fun, and it seems Minder has that Lancia figured out. third heat was really tight in front for a lap, I ended up mostly by myself after Sven got by, didn't fight that one. just did my best to keep in touch to pick up some scraps from battles in front. then Minder happened again, damn Minder. came home fourth. all in all a successful outing this week I think. pretty good points haul for Team Jake too. p.s. kudos to the lapped drivers for making room. 
TL;DR on my side: Bad quali, bad 1st heat. Decent 2nd, awful 3rd.
1st heat i spun in the last corner and lost a loooot of time. Then I don't know what happened, cause i was alone for a long time. 2nd heat - managed to climb up to 8th behind Barry after numerous people made mistakes. Too bad Dimavika overtook both of us 1 lap before then end, ruining our chance of starting in the front row. I'll never forget this one. 3rd heat - this was the worst because i caused some crashes. With Urlauber in lap 1 - that was kinda bad, even worse as i thought after seeing the replay. Gerald in laps 4 and 5 - my bad. Lap 6 when i passed you, I think it was a clean pass, at least it seemed from my replay. Seemed like you had some oversteer towards me, nothing I could really do. But again, I'm sorry for the previous incident. Had a nice battle with Chip, though. Well done, that was a blast. Barry had some good pace, shame you got d/c in last race. Red - seems you were also consistent - I fell back many times and noticed you were keeping up well. Too bad you were involved in an incident in last heat. Probably a race to forget for our team. Better luck next time.

Semi highlight / interesting moment: heat 2, lap 2, in the hairpin section small contact between Dima and me. From urlaubers perspective it seems a conscious nudge from me to Dima. What happened: Dima tapped me slightly on my rear right side which made my car slide a bit. My correction for the slide (which worked) unfortunately gave Dima a little nudge back.

Crazy track, flying cars, broken transmissions and great fun! Loved the race, despite not finishing a single heat
 Grats to Ed for scoring 1st place for team Bolt in 3rd heat!

I got back home about 5 minutes before quali started. Close one! Luckily we have done this track before a few weeks ago with some lotuses, so I somewhat knew the track. Managed to get 8th. Heat 1: I have not seen the replay, as it didn't save for some reason, if anyone has the replay file they could upload, I would appreciate that! Anyway, lap 1, hit from behind and caused a huuuge crash! Spinning around on the track, I think I got in the way of a fair few people, specifically my team mates, i think they both hit me... wooops. Ended up at the back. After a couple more mistakes, somehow got up to 9th and finished there. Heat 2: Main feature of this one, trying to get past urlauber. In the twisty chicane part, did bump the back of him twice. Apologies! Well held both times Heat 3: Made a good move on Barry into t1 after he ran slightly wide. Toyota is supreme through the corner!! He almost got me back after my mistake, but I managed to hold the line and stay in front through the chicane. Then the pressure from sven! Like he said, he almost got me a couple times, but I held on. Kudos to nowai for taking the grass to not get in the way, appreciated. lol the air you got, looked like you could have almost come back on the track in a messy way, but you had it down. gr to all x

This track was awesome! Again, Sven brought us a fabulous unknown track. Elevations, fast first part and slow last one with a "corkscrew", what a demanding track; any deviation from the ideal line cost a lot of time.
Heat 1, I almost went out last turn of first lap, lost 2 positions. I was following Dimavika too much and didn't took my proper line, leading me wide beyond the kerb, took a bump and almost flew. I managed to stay in contact and had some good battles with Offcorsa and BarryTrotter. Dima's pace was pretty solid, I wasn't able to catch him back. Heat 2, started in the pack, some mistakes in front allowed me to take second place, chasing Sven but he was very fast and consistent; gap didn't reduced for the remaining laps. Heat 3' start was epic: cars were on left and right with enough room to not sweat too much, I had 2 hits in 2nd lap and due to the weight ratio, I didn't managed to catch back my car and spinned after the chicane. Then I was battling with Delof then Offcorsa and started to miss the brake point before the hairpin. I had to use carefully the handbrake in that turn to cath back my mistakes. I could feel their breath on my neck getting narrower at this point. I think I know pretty well how to deal with the Fulvia, but it is very focus consuming to be consistant; this car need to be smooth on pedals and every movement can change radically the balance. No place for improvisation but I like that challenge. And after 6 races there's 6 different winners, very opened champ

My crappy performance continues.
Race 1 - The lap one incident claimed me. I don't have a replay, but from my pov I ran wide and went into Ed. If Ed got punted forward a bit that may explain it some more but i definitely drifted mid corner, going uphill into that long right corner and it felt like my fault. Race 2 - was going good until everyone warped off track and I realised I had lost connection to the server. It was odd going into the race because content manager told me there were two cosy servers for race 2 then, after I was booted, wouldn't find the server at all. I tried the normal AC launcher and got straight back in. Race 3 - starting at the back (right at the back). I just wanted a clean race and to try and pick up some places. I made it to the end without any issues, so took that as positive. Well done to the podium guys! and all the stunt drivers for some insane jumps - I wish content manager had a "most time in the air" result after that race. This is basically why I still am not using Content Manager, despite my AC launcher being really slow on initial launch; loading the menu's takes a few minutes sometimes..  Is that the lite version or the paid version, is there any difference at all in core functionality?

I just use the lite version. I think the paid version just adds a few extra options but the core of the program is the same - i'm sure someone else could answer that better.
I do really like CM and prefer it over the stock launcher any day, but i'll drop it if it continues to cause problems. I'll add that this is the second time I've had CM unable to show a cosy server when the stock launcher does. |
