Race Format:
Practice: from Monday the 18th, 24/7 (separate server)
Qualifying: 45 minutes, starts 7:30 PM UK
Race: 1 hour 30 minutes (timed)
Important! Make sure you're in the server before it switches to race mode, as the server doesn't allow new connections during the race.

Settings:
Different to the usual:
100% damage (50-70% usually)
300% tire wear (100% usually)
300% fuel consumption (100% usually)
setups open!

Weather as in real life at that moment.

Public server, so be there at qualifying start to secure your desired car! I can't assign slots since it's a public server. I stuck with one cars for each class so everyone can share setups.

When someone misbehaves at the start of the race or during quali, I can ban them without needing the server to restart. If someone fucks up badly during the race start, they will be banned and I will restart the race. Let's hope for the best in humanity

Important! Qualifying is open from 7:30 PM UK, for 45 minutes. Also be aware that setting "no change" for tyres in your pit strategy means that your tires will not be changed; I assumed this was just to indicate a change in tyre compound, not "no change at all". Practice server is live until qualifying, 24/7.

I think you have to set it up front in the setup tab under pit strategy, but maybe someone else can clarify or confirm this..

IDIOT GUIDE TO KERS IN TOYOTA TS040 HYBRID

I've never really played with the Ferrari SF15 (way above my payscale) but as I understand it, LMP1 is different.  And also, how each LMP1 car deals with Kers is different 

For LMP1 there are 6 delivery settings to choose from:

• Low Preserve
  
• Low Aggressive
  
• High Preserve
  
• High Aggressive
  
• Hotlap
  
• Charging
  

Now I read, but cannot now find it, that:

• 'Low' means that the battery assist would kick in at lower speeds to be used when accelerating out of a bend onto the straight.
  
• 'High' would kick in at hiigher speeds, to be used when going fast to go even faster.
  
• 'Preserve' uses slightly less energy, so you don't use it all up before the end of the lap
  
• 'Aggressive' uses more energy, but might not last as long.
  
• 'Hotlap' means it uses max energy each time you press the button, and will not last long).
  
• 'Charging' means it will not use any battery, and just replemish.
  

The most common explanation repeated on the forums is:

"The Low setting uses less battery, especially on higher speeds/gears

The High setting uses more battery in higher speeds/gears

The Preserve from Aggressive setting, changes how torque is transferred to the front wheels, depending on their slip and thus using more or less battery and heating/wearing more or less the front tyres. Obviously the aggressive setting will give faster lap times but put the front tyres in more stress as well as consume more battery/energy per lap.

Keep in mind that LMP1 drivers use as low a setting as possible and manually boost the ERS with the button in order to overtake slower cars or defend their position"

If you set up a button, you can toggle through the 6 delivery modes during the race.  But I tend to stick to the same one through out, to keep it simple.

I do not know if it is the right thing to do, but I usually run "Low Preserve" and then press the Kers button as I accelerate out of bends onto longer straights or to overtake.  If you watch the green bar on the steering wheel, you will see how much you are using each time. It will replemish the battery when you brake and the green bar will incease again.

However, there is a limit each lap on how much extra power you can use.  e.g. By the time you get to the start/finish straight the green bar says you have lots of power left, but pressing the kers button does nothing because you used up your quota for that lap earlier.

If you experiment on track, you get into a routine of when and for how long you press the kers button at the same points each lap to best use the extra power.  Bit like learning braking points.

Compared to Le Mans, Spa or Suzuka, the straights at Okayama are very short, so short bursts coming out of bends before the 3 slightly longer stretches might be the way to go.

Oh lordy.... The D-Pad on my wheel works. Why have i NEVER tried this before? It would have saved me during the Formula3 event. Thank you!

I have some time off work so can make this - in.

I want to give the Toyota a shot, just hope I can keep concentration for the distance. After practising today, I find the slightest lapse and i'm waving the corner goodbye. Will also be interesting if I can spend that long with the vive on and not drown in sweat!
