Absolutely not - you can only improve. Also these "off-season" races are purely for fun, with no points or teams to worry about.

We are a friendly bunch and willing to help out when/if we can

Like Chip said, it's all about enjoying the racing and improving here. I can't say thank you enough to Sven for helping me get my track etiquette to a point where it is now. And I'm improving it even more every race I take part in. In short, enjoy the racing and don't worry about the positions! You'll begin to gain speed before you know it.

Loving the BMW and very much looking forward to tomorrow night's races.

Now, I know nothing about tuning, but I do know that the BMW is one of the cars that will run OK with the rev limiter above 100%. If you go to the in car settings and find the "Generic" tab, there is a slider for Rev Limiter. Increase that from 100 to max of 103. It will give you an extra 250 rpm and hopefully a bit more speed. (Apologies if everyone already knows this.)

and I think increasing the rev limiter will also give you some engine damage over a long race, however, it may not be an issue with damage set at 50% and pretty short races.
