Buh, congrats to everyone who did well, good job on those who had fun
My races were a bit awkward both, I don't usually hit people like I did urlauber at Mugello, and I don't usually go off track at the Nordschleife. Better times ahead..
Server is also up with the F40 and fixed setup for a few days..
I had a good time and made some good experience in mugello. For my first race on h shifter i can be happy for that result. Actually i expected more problems, because i still have not a comfortable feeling on the pedals. I could have won the race but its totally ok, the pressure from minder k forced me to make stupid mistakes after a couple of laps. Lost the car 3 times in total and was slow on some corners where i actually had no problems before. But im happy with it because its always easier when you practice alone. I can say i learned a lot today.
At the nordschleife my battery was empty because the previous races and practice, had a bit pain in my left wrist. I guess i had up to 50 laps in mugello with the red beast, so its no wonder. I had a good start, something was wrong with my opponents ahead and in the first lap it looked like it gonna be a joyride. But then in second lap i started to dream a bit and made some mistakes and almost crashed a few times. Further at the end of lap 2 on the long straight i realised that there is a car in my mirror and i said to myself "cmon wake up you wont give the 1st place away"^^
But minder was really fast and i was not able to manage the gap. He was coming closer and closer and i really had hard times to stay calm because i knew i was not in a form to fight with him. At the end it was very close, he was 0.7 behind me when we finished.
So in total good experience today, thanks to all and especially sven for the service.
I forgot to put my steering wheel in correct angle for 1st race. It was 360° rotated to left. And I forgot to put first gear before lights on and I released the clutch when lights out but the car is not moving then I changed into first gear and ........ I spun (told you, put my wheel in -360°).
What a series of dumb mistakes
Second race was interesting. Crewchief tells me that car was on my left, but I don't see any in mirrors. I thought it was beside me. So, I gave too much space and went on to grass and took NRTH with me. And in last sector of 1st lap I already passed but Crewchief keeps telling me that car's on my left. So, I gave too much space and went onto grass.
Tbh, I don't know Nordschleife track. I have to get close to corner and recognize that "ah, it's this corner, it's that corner....".
Second race was interesting. I gave up on first race. Don't really like the car. Tbh, I hate turbo lag
Too bad I ran out of fuel in the last corner of Mugello and therefore rolled to a stop close to the pit entrance. I did run off once, slightly. However, my guess is that downshifting with throttle blip to stabilize the car increased my overall fuel consumption.
Apart from that, it was a nice race!
The F40 round mugello, great challenging race! This car really demands skill from the driver, with the turbo lag, no TC or ABS. I could have had third place if not for a mistake about mid way through the race. Last corner of the last lap, so unlucky Delof! Crew chief told me I had 1 litre left as I drove past you. I'm not sure what the difference is, I also blip on the downshift, maybe you just do it excessively?
Cayman GT4 at nordschliefe. Godamn start lol... there was only 10 or so seconds to go before I decided to add a few extra litres of fuel. I was not aware but apparently doing that makes AC think you false started, so from pole on the grid, to starting from the pits with a 15 second penalty. Needless to say, I was pissed. This did however give me the impetus to catch everyone (at least those I was able to!) It was actually very fun racing from the back, a couple of the highlights:
Just behind VR and NRTH when they took each other out, I managed to sneak between them unscathed.
Another bit of avoiding action when a couple of cars were coming back on the track at Aremberg.
The long straight, I overtook two cars in one move with the slipstream. Tip for everyone (and Sparten, who was slightly impatient trying to pass me at Ausfahrt Breidscheid ) the long straight is the best place to pass. Have patience and wait behind your opponent the whole lap until the straight then use slipstream to pass. The only thing the other person can do, is let you pass early in the straight then use your slipstream to pass back before the end of the straight, so time it so they can't use this tactic.
I hoped for third, couldn't quite catch Urlauber at the end. Great race.
