If you want to race mid week on the server, this is the thread to let us know!
Mid Week Meetup Thread

I'll try to jump in tonight.
09 October 2024, 19:01
I'm on most Wednesdays with Yellowthingy.
11 October 2024, 11:26
I won't be around on Wednesdays for at least the next eight weeks unfortunately.
I've put up a little development server; no custom fixed setups yet, I'll add some previous setups here you can use, or you can create your own for the moment.
Cars: BMW M3 E92 and Z4 E89, Nissan 370Z, Lotus Evora S and Exige S, Ford Mustang and Porsche Cayman S Track: Brands Hatch for now! Tire pressures haven't been checked as these are setups from different previous series that likely used different track settings than we use now.

The server is showing the track missing !
Also the Z4 and the Evora, all of which I thought were Kunos

Apologies, both fixed now! Knew I probably missed something..

(This post was last modified: 31 January 2025, 14:19 by Yellowthingy.)
I had a go with all except the nissan 370Z yesterday using setups that I made up because I did not read the post here first.
I only did a few laps and times ranged from 1.42.4xx to 1.47.xxx, the slowest for me was the Z4 with just under 1.46 I could not get the rear settled for braking in the time I spent with it to get better times. The mustang was the slowest as I could not get any speed in/out of the corners mostly. If you are interested I can post a picture of the times when I'm back home. (or the setups that I used, porsche left as it was just took couple of laps for the tyres to cool a bit)

Updated the earlier development thing; new cars on the list and old ones removed, down to four, actually tested now, with fixed setups!

I did some racing last night with Kuffy and we also helped all0gIc get on the server (missing DLC content)
Later on Kuffy and I had some fun in the Lotus with another racer Zeroeight. We all struggled to stay on track for the whole race! All the cars have their own styles in my eyes C7 is the easiest and probably the quickest right now 1.40 doable for me, but saw a 1.39 from Kuffy! the Porsche 918 felt a bit too twitchy on the front for me the Lotus seemed to like the rear to lose traction usually under braking causing spin out, this is more likely later in the race. perhaps the rears needs an extra PSI to keep the tyres more optimal? The BMW M4 feels like it wants to put all the power down at once and it feels like you have to make use of the top end of second alot into the corners, just be careful of the gear change kick.

Sounds like fun. Sorry I didn't join in, 8pm is too late for me now on Wednesdays.

I found the Lotus too front end sensitive. It may need a little dialling toward understeer if possible. A wee change here could take it into the 40s
The Vette seems to be too fast for the other cars on the straights. Was getting low 39s Didn't have enough time in the Porsche to find any limits but it was twitchy like Yellow mentioned. M4 felt like a boat in comparison but was putting decent lap times in. 1m40s possible.
Slower class made from the M3, M4, 370Z, Exige S and Mustang is now on the server! Includes fixed setups, largely tested a few weeks back.
Update on the earlier class soon!

(short) feedback is appreciated!

Lotus was very easy to drive. Maybe too easy/numb feeling. Best lap 1:59.4
Mustang (pre tyre fix) was not really willing to turn. Understeer was bad while pushing. World away from the Lotus. Didn't try it after the fix. Best lap 2:00.6 370z was OK but struggled to get it to the speed of the Lotus. I saw some public racers really struggle with it, spinning a lot. But I found it very stable. Best lap 2:00.5

Sven, please can we have the 4/5 cars (lotus,BMW, mustang etc) as before on the vallelunga circuit for tonight please?
If possible fine with fixed setup, but if you don't have the pressures can you leave that open? Thanks in advance!

That is indeed the plan (replacing the Exige with an Evora though), I was planning to have a quick drive; only the Mustang wasn't tested, those pressures have been corrected.

I ran a couple laps in each car around Vallelunga, here are my thoughts.
The Evora S is really fast and easy to drive, a little understeer in high speed corners, which is normal for a Mid-engine car. 1:26.931 The BMW M3 took more time to get up to speed, but with the proper racing lines, it was the second fastest with a 1:27.574. It feels heavy and not really good at anything but does everything well. I have a lot of seat time in the 370Z because my friend has one in real life and we race it in the game all the time. It's well balanced and rewards the driver for taking risks, it was my first car to get below the 1:28.000 besides the lotus. Fastest time 1:27.817 The Mustang GT feels very strange with the shorter gear ratios, has the power to make up for the lack of front end grip. I was initially faster with this car than the M3. 1:28.234 I did about 3-4 laps with each car, the order I tried the cars were M3-Mustang-370Z-Evora-M3. I started and finished with the M3 as I got more familiar with the track. All cars can improve laps times as we drive then, but I think the Evora is a class above the rest. |
