A single make series, turning the BMW 1M
into a stock race car with touring car aspirations!
Driving Tips: The car is set up to be slightly loose but still manageable. This means some understeer into corners for a more touring car-ish feel, while on exit it is slightly tail happy. The relatively high weight of the car and short wheelbase means you have to be careful on elevation changes and long sweeping corners. Gearing ratios cannot be adjusted, so you sometimes have shift down as late as possible going into second gear to avoid unsettling the car.
Skins/liveries
Every car is required to have a racing themed skin/livery. Skins may not feature:
- alcohol or tobacco related sponsors because this may cause issues in using our videos as promotion
- names, url's or logo's from competing race leagues or groups; we appreciate the work of others, but as we do not promote on their grounds we prefer you do not do so here
- other sponsors that can be seen as offensive and/or can cause problems in promotion of this community
Driver (door) number plates, crew boards and license plates on the car are provided by the series host. The driver numbers have to be placed on the (front) doors below the mirrors. Please place them in the size provided (100% scale). You can request them by sending a PM to Sven here or on Discord.

Tracks will be added in random order to the calendar.
For some tracks (listed in the race thread if applicable) the server might be set to four wheels off track allowed because of the exorbitant cutting penalties. Please keep to our usual track limits. Whenever running wide into or out of chicanes or run off areas, please reduce pace so there's no advantage taken.
Server Settings
Tire wear: 100%
Fuel: 100%
Damage: 100%
ABS: Factory (not recommended to disable, as brake bias cannot be changed where default ABS brake bias is often not very friendly towards non-ABS usage. Running non-ABS on factory-ABS cars is not recommended by Kunos neither)
Traction control and Stability Management: Forced off
Tire blankets: on during practice, qualifying and races
View/camera and FOV: hood or cockpit view with (near) correct FOV mandatory; https://dinex86.github.io/FOV-Calculator/ for single screen setups it's advised to add about 5 degrees (for example if 27 is correct, then you could try up to 32, if that's still not enough, consider solutions that move the monitor closer, like a monitor arm)
Free choice: virtual mirror, auto/manual clutch
Qualifying off track penalty: "zero tires out" during practice and qualifying; going outside the primary kerb results in invalidating your lap.
Races off track penalty: "two tires out" during racing heats. See our rule regarding track limits and a visual guide below under "Incidents-short overview of our guidelines" further down this page
Scoring
There will be an individual only. Best four week results count to individual standings. Titles will be awarded to the best driver in each division.
Points
25 for first place
21 for second place
18 for third place
15 for fourth
12 for fifth
10 for sixth
8 for seventh
6 for eight
5 for ninth
4 for tenth
3 for eleventh
2 for twelfth
1 for every driver below twelfth
Week result is sum of all racing heats
DNF (did not finish) equals last place in order of dropping out; a driver has to finish at least 70% of the race distance in laps (your laps rounded upwards) compared to the race winner in order to score points
DNS (did not start) equals zero points

Incidents
Although clean and fair racing is our ethos, accidents can happen, especially in close racing. Whenever you're involved in an accident and feel aggrieved, please be very careful with public claims, assumptions or accusations on the server, forum or on Discord.
Contact the driver(s) involved first to see what they think of a situation before reporting it to staff. If you can work it out yourselves that's preferred. Language like "I think", "I feel" and "I find" are recommended to make your problem clear without offending those involved.
In case of reporting it to the staff, first watch the replay yourself from all drivers' involved views and multiple (preferred: cockpit) cameras (request replay for download by PM to staff if you don't have it). Be aware that most people do not use VR and on most triple monitor setups you actually are not able to see (fully) around you. If, after this, you still think you were the victim of actions that do not comply with our guidelines, send a PM to the series staff detailing your case.
If you do not report it, it will likely go unnoticed as staff do not check replays for incidents unless they have any indication of uncosy behaviour. Thus, it's your responsibility to report uncosy track behaviour.
Track Etiquette
- return position to victim when your (reasonably avoidable) fault causes someone to leave the track, spin or lose a position
- return position, return to track and carry out slow down penalties only when safe; stay off the racing line if possible and do not cross the track unnecessary or dangerously
- safety is the most important part of the first corners; keep battles and overtakes to a minimum
- under blue flag: allow lapping traffic an effortless pass that doesn't slow them down
- during qualifying; when on your first lap, give faster drivers an effortless pass that doesn't slow them down
- no blatant swerving or blocking in battles; when defending, only switch lines once and allow space for others who are aside you before braking
- no dive bombing; do not dive on the inside of cars braking earlier than you, while you are not already aside
- whenever reasonably possible keep half of the car, along the longitudinal axis, completely within white lines, also if there are no kerbs. When there are kerbs, the wheels on one side may be on primary kerbs, but not beyond them on the grass or run-off area and still with half of the car within white lines. Primary kerbs in this case means that if there are two types of kerbs and/or run off areas, the ones closest to the track count as primary kerbs.
As there's an informal incident count table at the end of the series, please do not intentionally hit cars after crossing the finish line.
Track Limits
The following are all allowed situations regarding track limits:
First Time?
1) post your car choice (and skin preferences) in https://cosyracingcommunity.com/thread-1577.html
2) sign up every week in the weekly race thread with an In, Maybe or Out. You can join a series any time and don't have to make all the races. Only members who posted "IN" on time in the race thread are put on the servers' entry list.
3) Discord is mandatory to participate in our events, joining our voice channel is recommended (a mic is not mandatory). More on Discord and download: http://cosyracingcommunity.com/thread-362.html
4) on race day, at around 7:45 PM UK, I will post a message on Discord saying the server is live with the track of the day. It's then in practice mode until qualifying starts. To join, search "cosy" in the server list, password is not necessary since it's a locked entry list. Between heats the server will be restarted, I'll again post on Discord when the server is live; from there you have two minutes to connect for each racing heat
5) please read the rules and this entire post before asking questions
