Kuffy is the setter of this challenge, where we're taking the Ginetta GT4 to the Canadian twists of Calabogie on the Stadium layout. This challenge starts immediately and ends the 30th of June!

Find the event in the list by searching for "Cosy" under Drive -> Challenges -> Special Events

I must be doing something wrong because after pushing a lot I'm only getting 1:08.370.

I downloaded the car from the link provided, but the title is different from Kuffy's screenshot, so I'm wondering if I downloaded the wrong thing?

Actually the RD download is out of date. Shaun had a falling out with RD due to a few members singling him out for unwarranted abuse before his death.

Out of date meaning? If the RD car is the one that Kuffy downloaded I'd like to stick with that one.

The reason I chose this track was it always appears that you can't go any faster, then it clicks, this happened to me a few times before certain corners gave up their secrets. You get massive gains from a tiny bit more commitment (after a few spins and many, many swear words). I really enjoyed races we had this last year.

The car is solid, but unfortunately the correct driving position freaked me out so had to go with the standard issue AC side.

Sub 1:08s are doable standard but I think you need to get your pressures in check to go much faster. I'm hoping to see some wild times with people who actually know how to set cars up ! Also so I can borrow their setups.

Agreed, I seemed to get faster in each sector when I tried something new, but the amount of times I had to reset after spinning and swearing wasn't fun! The daft thing is, with that time I set I was behind my best in sectors 1 and 2, but just couldn't string together best in all three. I think I've got a mid-6 in me, but that's my absolute best.

I managed a 106.289 as my fastest lap so far...

setup changes were adding psi left to 19 right to 18, though this was clearly not correct as the front left was getting too hot
and the rights were not warming either.
aero down to 4
fuel down to 20
traction control off

There is definately more time in it to be had but need to adjust setup still a bit, I think the 1.05.9 should be acheiveable to me

I think some clarity might be needed here, as there seems to be some confusion around how the folders have been named when updating.

The Car that is in OP link to download from RD is "Ginetta G55 GT4 2017 V1.3" and has folder name - "ginetta_gt4_2017_lhd" NOT as stated in OP.

The updated V2.0 car has the folder name "ginetta_gt4_lhd" - Which IS sated in OP.

It would seem that Kuffy is "maybe" using the V2.0 car? - It is 50kg lighter (as well as being updated) so "MAY" account for time difference?

I ran an off season event with these cars so have both versions (although the older was 1.2).

You are correct sorry. When I was giving Sven the details I just searched for the car and there it was. I don't remember ever going anywhere else for car downloads so not entirely sure how that happened.

Was the off season race using the v2.0?

To be honest I’m not sure how the special events work - I’ve just installed it and it defaults to V.2. So if you have both installed it will select that one.

I guess it’s to do with the folder name?

Need to nip out and collect daughter so will try and investigate further later…..

Well I got 1.05.900 but that was not enough to get the 'gold' in the challenge!

pressures on the left 21 right 22, still heats the tyres more that I would like
changed the fuel to 10 to lighten the car but not sure if this is better or not.
camber I will confirm later, but made it more positive by approx 0.2 each wheel

when I get round to signing up to an image place I'll post my times, properly!

@Yellowthingy: I will check out the Time Trial numbers too, it's a bit confusing/annoying as the event file contains a lot of unused variables.

I didn't save my setup that I used to do that lap. I kept tweaking and saving the same setup.

Most of the setup changes were:

• Less fuel
  
• More rearward brake bias
  
• Minimum steer assist (whatever that is)
  
• Lower suspensions / more rake
  
• Optimise tyres pressures
  

Is it possible to enable tyre blankets for these events?

For me, the tyre pressures took 2 to 3 laps to get up to their working range. It's very noticeable with this car because the working range for pressure appears to be very narrow.
