Not a great evening for me.
Started out well enough with a pretty good qually effort (eventually, it took a few attempts to get a clean lap in). Then heat 1 was going well. But a few laps from the end I clipped the outer wall at high speed just before the braking point for the 2nd corner slow left/right hander. It was the mildest of touches so I was pretty surprised to receive damage and the smashed windscreen really put me off. I started falling back. People behind caught up in their rocket ship Mazda's. There were 2 of them. One went past. Yellow attempted a pass on the inside but we touched. He waited for me but I don't think I left adequate room so I'm not convinced he was a fault. 2nd heat, very early on I was behind someone in the banking. They had got their line all wrong so I was right up behind them. Then I don't know if it's a difference in corner ability of the cars or they were still trying to get back "on line" but they seemed to slow suddenly when I was expecting the opposite to happen. I touched their rear bumper which sent me falling off the track at high speed. I believe they were unaffected, but sorry to whoever that was! I went shooting off at high speed to the inside of the banking and traveling almost perpendicular to the correct direction. As I shot over the pit exit, a car was coming out of the pits! It was bloody close, would have been a complete freak accident and they would have no clue where this high speed missile came from t-boning them as they left the pits. Thankfully it didn't happen, I don't know if they even saw me and how close it was to a huge impact. Heat 3 was more like it. But in the Lotus it seemed impossible to progress through the field. It could just about do the lap times. But it was so outclassed on the straights here. You would catch up through the technical bits, manage to get right up close in the very slow final chicane, and then the Porsche and Mazda would disappear into the distance. Rinse and repeat. And if you made a tiny error with a Porsche or Mazda behind that meant you hadn't maximised your technical section time, they would blast past you on the straight and you'd never be able to get past them again. But that's the risk you take when you choose a slower car that's better in the corners! A hard evening indeed.
Got some practice a couple of weeks ago on this track and then a little bit more during practice and qualy but I couldn't manage braking on T5, either I braked to early or too late, and when I manage to brake at a good braking point I wasn't able to manage the braking for some reason (well actually it might be because I got a new bucket seat and I was fiddling with the bucket seat and brake positions).
I tried following Sab1n on that same turn and almost got completely off track. I need a lot more practice in this car. Heat 1 was pretty normal except when I was fighting for my position with Sab1n, I tried to give a good fight but going 2 wide into turn 6, me on the inside, Sab1n on the outside, me pushing hard the car and Trying to give as much space as I could on the exit but we still touched. I would like to believe it was just a race incident and not really anyone's fault. Then I got bumped on the last turn (or the one before?), But again, just a race incident. Heat 2 I might have been to eager at the start, didn't kept enough distance with NRTH, and looking at the replay we were 3 cars pretty close. Race went pretty well, made some mistakes, other people too, 7th place was pretty good. Heat 3, I believe I made it to respect initial distance on countdown. Pretty good race, a lot of fights, I think it was there where s4b1n passed me and I tried to follow him into turn 5 and almost took myself out xD.

I missed alot of the pre-race practice and Qualifying that I usually use to get into the racing groove and see if there are areas I can push a bit.
Most of the races heats I ended up following my team mate Gcosens93 and trying to defend against others behind me (at least it felt that way), there were times where I would catch up and other times drop back away from my team mate but generally we had similar lap times I believe through out the races. Heat 1 I did not notice the contact myself but my Arch nemesis (Evil Mattress) 'claims' that we did! However the outcome in cosy spirit I attempted to wait for Evil Mattress to catch back up which unfortunately he went wide on the next corner, knowing there was very few laps left I slowed a little but Evil was not catching me up so just had to continue at that point. Lost some places due to this but the racing is just as important as the points to me. 3 points between us Evil Mattress! see you on the track next time! (in my mirrors of course ) Heat 2 and 3 were similar and fairly uneventful, though both times I gave away/lost a place on the final lap or so. Heat 2 there was a pack of cars ahead and I carried just a touch too much speed into the right hander and put two wheels into the grass, Kuffy managed to sneak the inside because of this mistake. Heat 3 trying to defend the inside on the last slow complex slid the front into S4b1n, was quite minor but still caused me to loose the place to both S4b1n and then Jorius followed through as well.

Bit of a bugger that.
Stuck a new cpu in on Saturday. Hadn’t paid too much attention to temps until I put overlays on for AC. By the start of h1 was at 90! Shame, never done that track before and heat 1 was fun. Didn’t want to risk damage so shut down. Think I need a new fan.

Stock amd. Not enough for a 105 watt cpu.
New stuff on the way.

Was an enjoyable track with these cars, even the off road like bumpy section.
Was quite happy with pace here. A little unexpected qually result. Heat 1 was quite lonely, couldn't keep up with top 3 but managed to get away from people behind. Heat 2 Jorius got the jump on me at the start and I just didn't have the pace to get him back. This allowed the RX7s to catch and then just drive by. Was a wee bit disheartening. Unfortunately had a wee tap on Jorius going into the last corner and as he came out he had a wee spin. After that I managed to catch up to the RX7s again and slip past Yellow at the end. Heat 3 I lost a bit of pace on the long turn and just went backwards, ended up overdriving the Lotus and had a wee spin. That was the end of that. Definitely getting close to the feel of these cars. Again big thanks to Sven for taking the time to help me through my issues. Also realised that my push to talk resets when changing between flight sim and racing sim, so I wasn't being quiet !

After watching the replay, there does look like the slightest nudge that causes the slide. From memory I don't think I saw you in my view until you slid in front of me after that nudge, whether it was you coming across in front of me or me nudging you I don't know for sure. Apologies as we both lost out on the points from the potential higher placing. While I'm at it I'd like to apologise to S4b1n the replay in heat 3 where we are so close makes me a little uncomfortable watching it back. I dont believe that there was contact but I feel that I squeezed across a bit too much? It was some good racing at the time though

Had a lot of good battles last week. Had i not spun out and fallen to the back in H3 i would have probably competed for 4th, but i still had plenty of fun in a tight mid pack.
No worries, Yellowthingy! I remember thinking also it was a bit tight but no contact = good fun |
