Ballast, Restrictors & Balance
Ballast and restrictors are determined based on the overall balance between cars over the entire calendar; some cars outperform on certain tracks to be slower on others. Ballast and restrictors are designed to stay the same throughout a series, but may be subject of change when car(s) prove to be unexpectedly dominant. Setups are likely to remain untouched.
When a car is not included in the above list, it is because it's way too fast, too slow or because of other criteria (weight, powertrain, etc). To avoid not being able to select your car during practice a series won't feature more than four cars.
Skins/liveries
Every car is required to have a racing themed skin/livery. Skins may not feature:
- alcohol or tobacco related sponsors; this is solely because of issues this may cause in using our videos as promotion
- names, url's or logo's from competing race leagues or groups; we appreciate the work of others, but as we do not promote on their grounds we prefer you do not vice versa
- other sponsors that can be seen as offensive and/or can cause problems in promotion of this community
Driver (door) number plates, crew boards and license plates on the car are provided by the series host. The driver numbers have to be placed on the (front) doors below the mirrors. Please place them in the size provided (100% scale). You can request them by sending a PM to Sven here or on Discord.
Race Format
15 minutes practice (from 7:45 PM UK)
15 minutes qualifying
Heat 1: 15 minutes timed
Heat 2: 15 minutes timed
Heat 3: 15 minutes timed
Grid orders
Heat 1: qualifying result
Heat 2: heat 1 result + groups of three reverse*
Heat 3: heat 2 result + groups of three reverse*
*reverse grid (based on previous heat result) for heat 2 and heat 3 always for groups of three (e.g. finishing first in heat 1 means starting third in heat 2; finishing 7th in heat 1 means starting 9th in heat 2); if a group of two remains these two will be reversed, if a single driver remains (e.g. finishing 10th in a 10 car field), they will start from their finishing position
Rolling Start procedure: double file (two rows), leading car (pole) slowly increases pace to a maximum speed of 80 km/h (50 mph). If you start left, stay left; if you start right, stay right. Keep at least a car's length between you and the car right in front of you, and do not overtake a car that is aside you if you start on the outside. You may reduce throttle, but do not brake, maximum speed of 80 km/h (50 mph). Once the race timer (top of your screen) hits 14:45, the race starts. The host will do a countdown over our voice channel.
Before every racing heat the server will be restarted, this takes a few minutes due to assigning the entry list (starting order). It's recommended to wait for my Discord text and/or voice message to rejoin without issues.
If more than 24 drivers sign up, some drivers will not be able to race that week, but are assured a starting position in the remainder of the series until everyone has sat out one race that series. The driver(s) who cannot race that week will be determined in the following order:
- drivers that signed up with a "Maybe"; last to sign up with or change status to a maybe will be first one to sit out
- drivers that posted "In" but have not made a race yet; last to sign up will be first one to sit out
- drivers that have made the least rounds in the last series ran before this one (if multiple, those who became a member earlier are picked last)
- if any drivers don't make qualifying those who have been asked to sit out can still join for the races, at the back of the grid, in order of dropping out (last asked to sit out is first reserve, and so on)
- drivers who signed up and do not turn up, when there are more than 24 sign-ups, lose their assured starting position for the remainder of the series
Drivers who do not sign up for the race will NOT be included for qualifying; they may start in last place on the grid for heat 1, please notify the staff in charge, usually Sven by using @Sven on Discord. The server for practice and qualifying will not be restarted to add drivers to the grid.
Calendar
The race thread includes a list of the three tracks that are up for a draw that week. The track will be drawn from a list of three at race time. The two tracks that aren't drawn will continue to next week's selection. Tracks will not feature more than once in a series.
The practice server will have one of the tracks from the next (not upcoming, to avoid an advantage for those who practice) week's draw, announced in its weekly race thread.

How to install mod tracks: http://cosyracingcommunity.com/thread-250.html
Server Settings
Tire wear: 100%
Fuel: 100%
Damage: 100%
ABS: Factory (not recommended to disable, as brake bias cannot be changed where default ABS brake bias is often not very friendly towards non-ABS usage. Running non-ABS on factory-ABS cars is not recommended by Kunos neither)
Traction control and Stability Management: Forced off
Tyre blankets: on during practice, qualifying and races
View/camera and FOV: hood or cockpit view with (near) correct FOV mandatory; https://dinex86.github.io/FOV-Calculator/ for single screen setups it's advised to add about 5 degrees (for example if 27 is correct, then you could try up to 32, if that's still not enough, consider solutions that move the monitor closer, like a monitor arm)
Free choice: virtual mirror, auto/manual clutch
Qualifying off track penalty: "zero tyres out" during practice and qualifying; going outside the primary kerb results in invalidating your lap.
Races off track penalty: "two tyres out" during racing heats. See our rule regarding track limits and a visual guide below under "Incidents-short overview of our guidelines" further down this page
Points
There will be an individual and team championship. Best five week results count to individual and team standings. Titles will be awarded to the best driver in each division, and for champions of the team standings.
For every race heat
50 for first place
49 for second place
48 for third place
47 for fourth
46 for fifth
45 for sixth
44 for seventh
...down with increments of 1 point
Week result is sum of all racing heats
DNF (did not finish) equals last place in order of dropping out; a driver has to finish at least 70% of the race distance in laps (rounded upwards) compared to the race winner in order to score points
DNS (did not start) equals zero points
Teams
Minimum of three drivers per team, minimum of one from each division. Teams can only have one driver marked with a star (no exception for multiple drivers on a driver slot, see below).
Up to two drivers can use one driver slot. Teams are allowed to use drivers for a higher division slot than they are ranked (a star does not count towards the team total then); for example you could use an Am driver in a Pro-am slot, or a Pro-am driver in a Pro slot. A driver may not change slots during the series; for example you may not compete in the pro-am slot in one race and in the pro slot the next race.
All team members have to drive the same car, which has to be instantly recognisable as being a team car featuring the same general design scheme; team cars may differ in primary, secondary or tertiary color(s).
You can drop and/or add drivers during the series at any point, but have to announce it before the race where you're going to use the new driver (scores of the replaced/dropped driver will still count up until that point).

The list above, although subjective, is non-debatable. It is based on recent performances, results in the last three series, and/or in comparable cars. Only drivers recently active have been ranked above.
If you're not on the list but have raced before in our series, please PM me. Even if you're not on the list and/or haven't done any racing with us before, you're of course allowed to participate in this series and a division will be assigned soon.
Incidents
Although clean and fair racing is our ethos, accidents can happen, especially in close racing. Whenever you're involved in an accident and feel aggrieved, please be very careful with public claims, assumptions or accusations on the server, forum or on Discord.
Contact the driver(s) involved first to see what they think of a situation before reporting it to staff. If you can work it out yourselves that's preferred. Language like "I think", "I feel" and "I find" are recommended to make your problem clear without offending those involved.
In case of reporting it to the staff, first watch the replay yourself from all drivers' involved views and multiple (preferred: cockpit) cameras (request for download by PM to me if you don't have it). Be aware that most people do not use VR and on most triple monitor setups you actually are not able to see around you. If you still think you were the victim of actions that do not comply with our guidelines, send a PM to the series staff detailing your case.
If you do not report it, it will likely go unnoticed as staff do not check replays for incidents unless they have any indication of uncosy behaviour. Thus, it's your responsibility to report uncosy track behaviour.
Short overview of our guidelines:
- return position to victim when your (reasonably avoidable) fault causes someone to leave the track, spin or lose a position
- return position, return to track and carry out slow down penalties only when safe; stay off the racing line if possible and do not cross the track unnecessary or dangerously
- safety is the most important part of the first corners; keep battles and overtakes to a minimum
- respect the blue flag: allow lapping traffic an effortless pass that doesn't slow them down
- respect during qualifying; when on your first lap, give lapping cars an effortless pass that doesn't slow them down
- no blatant swerving or blocking; when defending, only switch lines once and allow space for others who are aside you before braking
- no dive bombing; do not dive on the inside of cars braking earlier than you, while you are not already aside
- whenever reasonably possible keep half of the car, along the longitudinal axis, completely within white lines, also if there are no kerbs. When there are kerbs, the wheels on one side may be on primary kerbs, but not beyond them on the grass or run-off area and still with half of the car within white lines. Primary kerbs in this case means that if there are two types of kerbs and/or run off areas, the ones closest to the track count as primary kerbs.
The following are all allowed situations regarding track limits:
As there's an informal incident count table at the end of the series, please do not intentionally hit cars after crossing the finish line.
First Time?
First time racing with us in a series?
1) make sure you've posted your car choice in the thread "Post Car Choice & Form Teams" in this forum board
2) sign up every week in the weekly race thread with an In, Maybe or Out. You can join a series any time and don't have to make all the races. Only those who posted "IN" on time in the race thread are added to the entry list.
3) Discord is mandatory to participate in our events, joining our voice channel is recommended (a mic is not mandatory). More on Discord and download: http://cosyracingcommunity.com/thread-362.html (if the software gives you problems, you can of course use the web version of Discord)
4) about 15 minutes before qualifying, I will post a message on Discord saying the server is live. It's then in practice mode until qualifying starts. Search "cosy" in the server list, no password required since it's a locked entry list based on your Steam ID. Between heats the server will be restarted, I'll again post on Discord when the server is live; from there you have two minutes to connect
5) Make sure to read the rules and race thread fully before asking questions
