I was in, but now I have to be out. Got some work last minute so will be busy until late. It's a shame, was looking forward to this one! Next time ☺️

First few laps in these were awful. But they tame reasonably easily. I'd definitely race these more often, even a fun thing.
Was bored today and tried out the next plan for the series skin on the volvo.

My VR view of Donington Heat 1
Brands Hatch Heat 1 Replay:

@MrChip That VR onboard is awesome to watch.
I really enjoyed last night. Out of all the off-season events, this felt the closest to a normal series. The racing through-out the pack was close and very competitive. The cars were close in overall performance and reasonably easy to drive.
Yep the cars really are awesome to drive. There is an Audi and Renault Laguna in the works also, but they are taking a long time to release them, as they want to do them justice.
As I said they are not all ready for a “proper series” but may do another off series event or “mini series” in the future if there is enough interest…….

Donnington H1 was so stressful. You guys are so fast, I hope my slightly erratic brake point choice wasn't too much of a distraction. Thanks for sharing that replay bud. I wasn't all that sure what happened to Stephen but it looks like my braking caught him out. I'll be working on getting that a little better, makes for closer racing I think.
Was amazing to see it from the VR perspective like that. These cars were a proper handful, but a loveable handful. It was great to see I wasn't the only one applying so much opposite lock!

I think I miss judged the braking point while being off the racing line. But you did really good driving. I had to keep 100% focus in H2 to keep up with you. I loved how both our lap times kept falling every lap. (25 April 2022, 13:29)Mr Chip Wrote: Yep the cars really are awesome to drive. For these races I had done the minimal testing and practice prior to Sunday.
This showed especially at donington as I don't think I have really played that track since TOCA 2. Having said that the first race was not too bad just did not have the pace but was still able stay on track for the majority of the races with some opportunities to overtake with fingers crossed not to slide or go wide in the corners. Now for donington, well a bit of a mess and this is the first race where I was lapped ![]() Looked like a great battle on the video from Mr chip's perspective ![]() As for more racing with these cars, I'm just happy to get round the track and hopefully not be lapped. There is definitely great pace and viability for close racing to be had. |
