The Miata was perfect. Very well balanced. This was clear in the way it dominated at Laguna.
The GT86 suffers from a poor frontend, and a poor diff/gearbox. If I downshifted too early, it would unsettle the car.
With the GT86 at Silverstone, I found the entry into Stowe (Turn 6?) very difficult. If I got the downshift wrong, the diff would lock. Even if I got the downshift right, it was hard to place the nose where I wanted it and often I had to wait until I could get back on the throttle.
My recommendation would be to add weight to the Miata.
I'm not sure what I would recommend with the GT86. It needs a more frontend grip and/or a more lively rear end, but I don't want to make the car hard to drive for others.
I wonder, is it possible to run the cars on different tyres? I didn't see what tires were being used, but maybe giving the GT86 grippier tyres might help it. eg: Miata = Hard, GT86 = Soft.
Looking forward to the next test session.
Do you use paddle shifters?
