To celebrate the Modified Monsters series, you're getting the chance to race in a multi class event!
One of the longest Cosy races so far! But, you don't have to run for two hours. Driver swaps allow us to assign multiple drivers to every car, so you could run a single stint, or keep a few pauses between your stints, or of course run the entire race by yourself.
Sign up by posting IN, your car(s) of choice (or preferred order) and your preferred stints (in UK PM time). Sign-up closes at 6:00 PM UK, which is 60 minutes before practice start.
Maybe's and Out's are appreciated when you're less certain or can't make it, please specify why so we know you're not fed up with racing or whether anything else is not to your taste.
Race Format:
10 minute practice (from 7 PM UK)
20 minute qualifying (from 7:10 PM UK) tire blankets on
120 minute (2 hours) race (from 7:30 PM UK) tire blankets on
A car will have a qualifying time assigned to it, set by the fastest driver in that car. Cars that don't have a qualifying time are sorted by the game, as the entire thing will be hosted on a single server setup (one server session hosting practice, qualifying and a race, no need to rejoin, but rejoining is of course possible also for drivers doing the full race by themselves).
Tire wear: 200%
Fuel rate: 200% recommended app ACRLfuel: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads...uel.15424/
Damage: 100% be aware that rejoining the server removes all damage, gives a full (to fixed setup limit) fuel tank and fresh tires
Track:
Vallelunga (Extended)
Cars:
Toyota TS 040 (LMP Class)
Porsche 911 Cup 2017 (GT Class)
Toyota GT 86 (Spectator cars, available for everyone participating, also possible to request if not participating)
All cars will use a custom fixed setup. For this race it will not be possible to create your own setup.
If there's a skin you've seen at RaceDepartment which you like for the car you're going to drive, feel free to post the link, and I'll adjust it with a one-off number plate with your driver number.
Blue Flags:
For GT drivers: please use one line (inside or outside) and do not switch lines with a LMP car closing in, as this can easily create dangerous situations; if you run wide, stay wide, if you want the inside, claim it as early as possible without a chance of the LMP car getting there before you; blue flag basically means a faster car is incoming, so you should give way and not block the overtaking car; no need to move over on the straight, let the LMP car do the overtaking
For LMP drivers: a safe overtake is still (somewhat) your responsibility; if you are lapping a blue flagged car on a part of the track where it's difficult to overtake, hold back; make sure a blue flagged car can spot your early in their rear view mirrors on straights, and take into account the difference in braking and acceleration performance
Pit Stops:
- you have to stop exactly in the red square which pops up as you enter the pit lane
- you can set up pit strategies in the setup menu, all the way to the right on the tabs.
- a car will never get more fuel than the fixed setup has at the start
- using different tyres is allowed for the LMP class (in case of more pit stops than necessary)
Sharing a Car:
- multiple drivers per car are allowed, even encouraged! No restrictions on driver pairings
- you may sign up for multiple cars, also on the same class (this can give problems when switching cars, I'll let the drivers involved know what they should be careful off)
- you're responsible for communication with your co-drivers and keeping an eye on the length of your stint
- as in our series, do not join the server in a car that takes part in the race that you did not sign up for
- who qualifies or does how many laps (in both qualifying and race) is completely up to you or your team
Driver Swaps Process and Tips:
1) enter the pit lane
2) make sure you've crossed the start/finish line to count your last lap, but you do not have to drive into your pit box
3) you have to come to a complete stop, then leave the server
4) only once you've quit the server, the other driver can take the car
5) joining driver will get a fresh, undamaged car, including fuel and tires
(when rejoining, make sure there's at least 40 seconds (Toyota) or 20 seconds (Porsche) between the time the exiting driver leaves the server and the joining driver presses drive)
- server automatically keeps the number of laps the car has traveled, no matter who was driving it
- make sure you wait until your "race" car is taken before you take a "watch" car slot. otherwise it'll put you in the "race" car!
- there is a bug with the blue flag, showing after a driver swap, which doesn't necessarily mean the car behind you is lapping you; whenever someone is closing in on you after the first stint and you're pretty sure you're not battling them for current position, please let them pass at a safe and easy place
- there will be a list detailing in which order the cars are on the entry list; this only matters if you've signed up for multiple different cars
MGU-K Explained (only for LMP)
The MGU-K is an electrical component, not dissimilar to the KERS systems that the series has used since 2009. The MGU-K takes electrical energy harvested from the rear axle under braking, stores it in the ERS battery, and deploys it to the rear wheels when under power. For the lower modes you'll have to set a button to manually deploy, of course manual deploy can be used for the higher modes as well.
Modes:
Charging: doesn't do anything itself
Low preserve/aggressive: works in lower speed, lower revs (aggressive recommended)
High preserve: preferred for battling, hotlapping
High aggressive: more aggressive delivery
Hotlap: most aggressive, runs out quickly
use CTRL+2 to cycle through modes while racing if required
Recommended in-game apps:
Gears & Electronics (both Kunos standard)
The green bar is how much kers energy you have stored, the yellow bar is how much you have available for the lap. On the opposite side you will see a blue bar that indicates how much electrical energy you are using.
