To celebrate the GT Root series, you're getting the chance to race each manufacturers' GT equivalent of the series' car.
Again, the (joint) longest Cosy race so far! But, you don't have to run for three hours. Driver swaps allow us to assign multiple drivers to every car, so you could run a little as a few laps, or keep a few pauses between your stints.
Sign up by posting IN, your car(s) of choice (or preferred order) and your preferred stints (in UK PM time). Sign-up closes at 5:00 PM UK, which is 60 minutes before practice start.
Maybe's and Out's are appreciated when you're less certain or can't make it, please specify why so we know you're not fed up with racing or whether anything else is not to your taste.
Race Format:
40 minute practice (from 6 PM UK)
20 minute qualifying (from 6:40 PM UK) tire blankets on
180 minute (3 hours) race (from 7 PM UK) tire blankets on
A car will have a qualifying time assigned to it, set by the fastest driver in that car. Cars that don't have a qualifying time are sorted by the game, as the entire thing will be hosted on a single server setup (one server session hosting practice, qualifying and a race, no need to rejoin, but rejoining is of course possible also for drivers doing the full race by themselves).
Tire wear: 100%
Fuel rate: 100% recommended app ACRLfuel: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads...uel.15424/
Damage: 100% be aware that rejoining the server removes all damage
Track:
Zandvoort
Cars:
Porsche 911 RSR 2017
Chevrolet Corvette C7.R
Mercedes SLS AMG GT3
Audi R8 V10 Plus (Spectator cars, available for everyone participating, also possible to request if not participating)
All cars will use a fixed setup. If you want your own setup you will have to prepare it offline, I will then make sure they use the correct tire pressure and fuel, and the setup will be locked in that way on the server. Fuel and tire pressure will be the same as the other cars use.
Above cars have been balanced through ballast, restrictors and possibly fuel restrictions so their pitstops are faster/slower to balance the field.
If there's a skin you've seen at RaceDepartment which you like for the car you're going to drive, feel free to post the link, and I'll adjust it with a one-off number plate with your driver number.
Sharing a Car:
- multiple drivers per car are allowed, even encouraged! No restrictions on driver pairings
- you may sign up for multiple cars, but not the same model (this could easily give problems when switching cars)
- you're responsible for communication with your co-drivers and keeping an eye on the length of your stint
- as in our series, do not join the server in a car that takes part in the race that you did not sign up for
- who qualifies or does how many laps is completely up to you or your team.
Driver Swaps Process and Tips
1) enter the pit lane
2) make sure you've crossed the start/finish line to count your last lap, but you do not have to drive into your pit box
3) you have to come to a complete stop, then leave the server
4) only once you've quit the server, the other driver can take the car
5) joining driver will get a fresh, undamaged car, including fuel and tires
(make sure there's at least 20 seconds between exiting driver and pressing drive button on the server for the new driver)
- server automatically keeps the number of laps the car has traveled, no matter who was driving it
- make sure you wait until your "race" car is taken before you take a "watch" car slot. otherwise it'll put you in the "race" car!
- there is a bug with the blue flag, showing after a driver swap, which doesn't necessarily mean the car behind you is lapping you; whenever someone is closing in on you after the first stint and you're pretty sure you're not battling them for current position, please let them pass at a safe and easy place
- there will be a list detailing in which order the cars are on the entry list; this only matters if you've signed up for multiple different cars (example Porsche and Mercedes).
