Changing to Maybe. I'm at my brothers birthday meal. I should hopefully make it but could last minute or late.

I half enjoyed that, and half didn't.

I liked the challenge of driving something very powerful and on-the-edge, and I like the circuit. I also enjoyed the competition.

I didn't like that there appeared to be a massive performance gap between cars/drivers. I remember overtaking Sven like he was in another class of car.

I also felt this car had no "feel". I was mostly guessing where the edge was. The car didn't talk to me.

Also, I'm personally not fond of cars with lots of extra buttons and tools. Would be nice if those could be turned off. I didn't have the buttons setup, so I never used ERS or DRS. And I had no idea if anyone else was using it.

Quite a bit to unpack there.

Sven, going back to what I said above about overtaking you. I remember you saying you could not see the dash/steering wheel. On this car you have to use the shift lights that are on the steering wheel, rather than using the engine's red line, like in this video: https://youtu.be/5LXeNR5WzNc?t=173

---

For the next event, I'd love to see some slower and simpler cars Big Grin

Cheers
Stephen

I totally agree. I did the first 2 races without DRS. In the break I configured two buttons on my steeringwheel for Kers and DRS. But with a VR-headset on, it's always difficult to find the right button. I just hit de DRS button ont two straights but i didn't feel different. So for me no buttons.

Also I did see the performance difference. Sometimes there was so much speed difference. And I couldn't find the reason why.

It was nice to test it one time, but for the future, normal cars feel better.

Same here regarding the electronics, probably didn't notice it when prepping the setup since I almost never race with any HUD and don't bother too much with open wheel setups if the cars feels ok.

Sadly the electronics can't be disabled, the entire electronics part of the setup isn't even lockable through a fixed setup. Ran this in the spirit of "content we haven't used so far", good to hear your thoughts, noted Big Grin

Makes sense with what Yellow said then. My FOV doesn't allow me to see those sadly..

Aye, I echo the sentiments here. I could see where the ers deployment was making a difference. But found it difficult to see which one was actually faster round the track. In the heat of a race at least. The more I tried the slower I was getting.

I didn't feel anything from DRS, but I guess that would need to be within 1 second at the detection points. Which again I couldn't catch while racing.

The exits that you accelerate up over a crest, 1 and 3 I think, I was spinning a lot. The rest of the lap I was just too slow. just fear of those back tyres!

Unfortunately frustration + illness + sweatbox heat got the better of me, so took an early shower.

It was not until the last race that I figured it out to change early rather than red line so manged to go from 1.15 laps to 1.13 laptimes which would have been more in line with the laptime a saw Stephen have.
This was using the car stock and no ERS/DRS, I don't have it setup at all.

I tried to inform Sven that the gear change would be just into the 'raspy' sound for best gear change on the last race (I said the sound type as he could not see the lights) The speed difference in a straight line is huge just from this.

The previous races I did not understand where others were getting such a boost down the straights! It was all down to shifting correctly.
