Drove the cobra race 1. It has the straight line speed, but probably the worst braking. It can be a bit of a handful exiting slow corners, restraint with the gas is needed! But overall, I was surprised at how good it was.
Porsche race 2. It's probably the most complete car of the 3, but it can still throw some oversteer at you.
Lotus race 3. It seemed very slightly better on the straights and very slightly more difficult in the corners than the porsche. Best car on the brakes.
So good work sven, they seem to be very close. I am leaning towards the porsche/cobra at the moment. Love to use the H shifter
Could only stay for two races, but I tried two cars at least. So here's what I think:
Lotus: This car is a british enigma. I get no information at all from it. It feels very twitchy, yet understeers a lot. I can't catch it when it oversteers. It feels incredibly fast, yet my lap times are dirt. I never really feel in control of the thing, it's like it's in autopilot and I have no idea how to handle it. It's a pass from me.
Shelby: Have not driven it yesterday, so I don't know if the setup can save this one. I tried it offline quite a bit and hate it. It goes hard on the straights, but it won't brake at all. I just see myself getting rear-ended by cars that can brake a good 100 meters later than me. Hard pass for the american brick.
Porsche: A dream to drive. It's fast, eats corners for breakfast and I feel in control at all times. When it starts sliding, it just adds fun and is easily caught with a little pedal control. The only downside: It can't defend on the straights, especially against the shelby. That thing goes circles around the Porsche, only to block again in the next corner. Since passing during a corner is a fair bit harder than passing on the straight, I see some frustration rising in me already. I don't mind, though as the car is just too much fun. This will be my pick, 100%.

Wouldn't go by the default setup, try it on the server before you judge it
Shelby is fun to drive, but due to the braking (no ABS) it falls behind the other two in corner entry. And doesn't seem to make up for it as much as I'd expect in power. It was faster, but not by much from the release party testing. Might need either a tad less weight or a bit more powaaa or more testing
The other two did not feel as rewarding to drive, imo. Perhaps because I tried the bald eagle machine first .
Lotus was decent, great on the brakes and cornered well, like the mid corner throttle nose control.
Porsche I did not like (shocker, I know ) . Actually got frustrated with it on Laguna. Rear end liked to slide on entry, but I think this is a drivers preference.
Hmm I tend to disagree regarding the Shelby needing more power or less weight. To me it seemed competitive, and while I was driving the other 2 cars I was struggling to keep up with the Shelby.
I would kinda side towards Sabin, but actually I think the bigger factor is the track. Nurburgring had 2 fairly long straights, so it did well there, as opposed to brands hatch, which kinda almost doesn't have a straight, where the porsche did well. And Laguna seca somewhere in between, where I think lotus was best

From my POV, I tried the Shelby first and was a bit disappointed after that: I felt setting is very safe (too safe?) and coupled with big torque in second gear, it was a "just push play" machine.
Maybe I know it too much (you need to respect "her" anyway): the lack of wildness is a shame, but I understand it could satisfy some.
I don't think the lack of ABS makes it brakes longer, as I delayed my braking marks on Nürb for about 1-2m and was still in my "safe zone". Old tyres could do that. You have to consider more wheight transfer too compared the others.
The Boxster was refreshing, it's lively and (over?)reacts to any input quickly. Indeed it eats curves for breakfast and still want some. Shame I couldn't fight against a Cobra to compare accel beween those two.
I'll don't take the Lotus for two reasons:
- I used it in a previous serie
- shifter, no clutch
Still looks pretty on par with the Porsches
You are right, Minder, the shelby is setup much more tamed. But I think you'd agree that if it was in its original setup, only a few crazy people would take it for the season. We are two of those crazy
As it is now, it's more accessible to other drivers.
Lack of abs makes locking up a serious mistake that is not easy to recover from. That's what I was referring to. You're right in that the distance, if done correctly, is close to the other cars. But if done wrong, you're going wide.
I need you to show me some time how you drive the Porsche. I have nothing but frustration with it.
Message me and we'll do some Shelby vs Porsche testing
