The CosyRacingCommunity's very own "racing school".
While designed to be more of a friendly get together with ample space to practice your race craft, there are serious themes to each session that can improve the rookies as well as the (very) experienced.
If you're new and like a more one-on-one approach, don't hesitate and contact me by PM (link on the left below my Avatar) for a session from me or one of our other experienced drivers.
Concept:
- group training sessions with personal feedback from one of our top drivers
- no real pattern in when Cosy Training sessions are, some months might include more or less sessions
- open to all members, but targeted at our less experienced members
- closed server, so no random "idiotas"
<div style="padding:16px;border:1px solid black">It's required to at least be able to hear us through the Discord voice channel. You don't necessarily need a mic, since the trainer of that session will in most cases not be driving, but watching on board with the drivers, explaining and giving tips, as well as assigning pairings and explaining the exercises and focus points.</div>
<iframe width="800" height="450" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/GG2sAaunfPw" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Focus points:
- close-to-correct FOV, no HUD (or ideal line, I heard some of you still use it.. eeeeek!) and unnecessary info; focus on the track, your car and other cars
- learning a track; reference points, being able to call the next corner in gear and approx radius + direction
- side by side racing, keeping inside and outside without issues
- bumper to bumper racing, the basics of tailing, leading and handling risk
- overtaking craft: possibilities and strategy
- basics: weight shifting, braking, acceleration, cornering
- regaining control of a car, awareness of staying out of accidents, avoiding other cars when missing braking point
<iframe width="800" height="450" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7_Ro9dI-NMM" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The cars:
BMW M3 E30 S / manual transmission (H-shift), front engine (base game)
Lotus Evora S / manual transmission (H-shift), mid engine (base game)
McLaren MP4-12C / sequential transmission, mid engine (base game)
Optional (if you don't own the DLC yet, please mention when signing up in a race thread)
