Well, all in all that was a pretty awesome nights racing, and Race 1 was possibly one of the best experiences I have had with Assetto Corsa.
Got a tap at T1 pushing me into Barry (apologies for that) so ended up at the back with AngelNick and I think mad-rookie. Then had an awesome battle with the 2 of them for 5 laps, moving up the field, until I promptly lost it at the 2nd chicane! Managed to claw back a few places through some misfortune of others, but also passing Jonah on the last corner (sorry lol), to finally finish back behind AngelNick in 7th. Races 2 and 3 were also eventful, with a couple of silly mistakes costing me places. But seriously, again, massive thanks to Sven for all the work put into this, and also to the bunch of drivers we have here that make it such an enjoyable experience racing with you all. I will put up replay of Race 1 when it's finished uploading - hopefully it will be a half decent watch!

Great evening yesterday! Race 1, turn 1.... lets just move on from that Chip, you said it in your video.. "fuck sake..."
Race one was fun, Jonah you made it very difficult to pass! Race 2 I got my first ever win after starting on pole. Those last two laps were stressful with Barry and Sven catching up with me. Glad I could just concentrate and take it to the end. Race 3 was the most fun for me, had a great back and forth battle with sven until the second to last corner of the last lap where I braked too late and went into the back of sven. Luckily he didn't lose out any positions while I was immediately punished for my over-eagerness to pass him. GR all

The beginning was a mess for me yesterday. But i was not in the best mood when the event started. Had not much sleep in the night before, and in the races i did before i was constantly pushed off the track. When driving im not very patient to be honest...
Heat1: The start crash was a bit unnecessary, too much risk to attack me there on the outside and i was focused on the traffic to my left. At the end it was a racing accident but an unnecessary^^ Because there is nothing to win at this place, just rising the risk and you can be sure i would not start such moves in a friendly enviroment... The second incident almost forced me to leave then, because i was waiting for a good chance and watching the battle in front, and then barry... for fuck sake! I gave up the race for a little breath then. Heat2: Damned connection issue... It so strange, i actually have no connection problems, but in heat 2 i had this bug that it showed me the error message in the beginning and i see nobody else on the server for a while. But i thought "ok lets try it anyway, probably i dont get shot again..." Hope it was not a big shock when i teleported into the the races after a few turns. At this point my mood was still a bit agressive and i had problems to keep a clean line and i was driving a bit over the edge sometimes... forgive me sven^^ Even that one incident when i just missed the brakingpoint behind sven, shame on me... but actually i did not try to do a risky maneuver my concentration was just on low end. But after this i found slowly into the race. There was a nice hunt on Barry to the end. And btw thanks a lot to give me the position on the finish line Barry, nice move. Heat3: My start was not very good as always, and on turn one i was very careful but that means slow and that means everybody tries to overtake... I found myself in a sandwitch of cars and i could not avoid to bump offcorsa a bit, but im glad he did not crash because of that. But to be honest, why do u think that 3 cars go trough the chicane side by side? After that it was a good clean ride to the end. My pace was good and after a few laps i realised that nick maybe have some little problems to keep his BMW calm. So i started to push on him in the expectation to make him nervous, and it worked. Sry m8, i know this feeling, but next time just ignore the guy in the mirror...
A short summary for me this week; a pile-up between nearly everyone in front of me bar Offcorsa gave me an easy second place. I couldn't get the 1M to do 2:05's, so it was basically watching Offcorsa disappear and others losing time behind me.
Heat 2 was a more interesting affair, had a good fight with OldEarl for a few laps, and was just fast enough to not be an easy prey for the Beemers behind me. Didn't expect to be able to finish that close to Ed. Heat 3 my aggression got the better of my concentration; I'm getting a bit tired of the complaining during the races on server chat and it's affecting my motivation to continue to do this, especially since it often feels like I have to put on my body armor again. If you want to bring constructive feedback to the table, PM me on the forum please. ...but anyway, I slowed down enough for Ed to make some pretty risky but nevertheless quality overtakes. ...only for him to lose that position half a lap later Gladly I recovered from that last-lap-last-corner hit, because my boiling point was near. Had a good bunch of races on Kunos #10 today to make up; Cayman GT4 at Nordschleife was good fun (with people actually slowing down on yellow flags!), then when Sparten and DeLof joined it went downwards (NOT due to them), must have something to do with the time of the day and the "competitive" people coming out to play.

Sorry about that track rejoin i made there, but the realtime leaderboard app told me i was last that was apperently a lie.
Wasn't about you mate, just about the general standard of driving, the guy behind me was constantly biting at me while going wide himself every time, something I utterly hate and does not demonstrate actual racing skill. Brake checked him a couple of times to show that I was done with that behaviour. Got cut off several times as well and when bumped off I decided to (for the first time in years) put my bull bar on. Took out Delof instead.
...and back to pits

I don't feel very much the pressure but when i have problems like these, i can't block the behind car! If i lose one turn, then i lose the following one or two turns. As a result, the gap may be dropped 1-3 secs!! Generally, in heats, i had some great battles with Chip, Ed and the Mad-Rooky and some others drivers, because of the incident in the 1st corner! little by little i was gaining positions and as a result i didn't lose so many points! Nice Sunday, with a lot pressure but also with exciting races!

Fortunately (for me at least) no-one got into the back of me and I was off with a healthy lead. a lead Sven started nibbling at for a bit, but then stabilized. it was just a case of doing steady laps and not losing concentration. I agree with mad rooky about going slower in first corner, it's the safe thing but not everyone does and they try overtake, which is why I lose places all the time on starts, or get rear ended. Honestly when I was beside you, I did not realize there was someone on your other side... was wondering why you didn't give much room? until I glanced at helicorsa, then I was "oh shit, oh shit! tried giving as much room as possible. I have been guilty at times of venting frustration on server chat, I have recently (last week after being bumped a few times) decided it does nobody any good, just creates negativity in the community. Besides, I've had some awesome battles mid pack because I got bumped off earlier in the race. I've really had to work on enjoying the racing more than the results. (i'm kinda competitive). perfect example this week, spent the whole first heat by myself, next two heats I was mixing it up. climbing a few places, ended up being very satisfying racing. Sven, don't pack it in. I for one have a ton of fun here, and appreciate all you do. and i'm sure i'm not the only one

Sven, nothing but pleasure and excitement for me since I've joined, so for what it's worth I appreciate all of your efforts here! From the handful of races I've been part of, I have already noticed myself changing from the aggressive competitive approach to the steady and respectful. Last Sunday's race really pushed me, especially in the first heat where I went completely to the back after a good qualifying and it was honestly due to my aggression (got rear ended in t1 btw) after that the race fell apart for me. By Race 3, however, I was really going for consistency and clean passes. That was truly the most satisfying race I've had yet.
Also Ceol, we seemed to find each other a lot yesterday and I'm sorry for the occasional bumps we had. The C7 has really different brake zones and I kept getting caught off-guard when trailing you. Lack of practice didn't help either . But the few battles we had were really exciting! PS: Barry, on the front straight in Race 2, I believe, that scared the crap out of me man! lol

Na i think u mix it up a bit. You where not involved in my crash in heat 1, where a RX7 was coming on the far right where only very little space was. I was starting from 5th and lost postitions before getting to 1st corner. I hit the RX7 before the braking zone because i was trying not to hit mr chip on my left, but the hit pushed me exactly there and this caused me to spin. Our meeting was in heat3 and actually it was ok, it was just the thing that Berry was on my left too and there was no room to go anywhere... At the end i held my position and that nobody crashed shows that we all did not so bad @ Ed, i know it looks not too tight when you start to overtake me, but you always should keep in mind that the others also need room. Especially in braking zones that are not straight like this. In the first corner it is always very risky, and a crash is frustrating for every involved driver. And to avoid this from my side i had to go very close to mr chip to make room for you but this you cant expect... And im very sure mr chip did not see you on the far right comin, so he would not expect me to move more left. It seems you had a very good start and made already positions, pls in future dont be too greedy

I misjudged how much room there would be by not accounting for other drivers on your left. It is just very tough to not go for a gap when I see it. I will try to race more calmly next time

Well, I don't know what changed in Imola, did the same as on the Nürburgring. After getting my, what I felt best lap in qualy, I expected everyone else to be 3-4 seconds faster, as usual. Then my first ever pole position happened... wtf It was too good to be true, so I got sorted out by the Almighty Racing God in T1 But hey, now I knew I could compete, so I fought my way back to 8th only to fuck up again and was punished for it in the butt by Barry. Third and last fuckup for heat 1 was at the same spot after the last corner, I was too fast (or too slow) to react and rammed CyclicBug's green machine's behind. After the next 2 heats I made my peace with the M4 ... for now. Anyway, it was a hell of a rollercoaster ride and in a good way! I'm eager to see what will happen in Grobnik!
