Welcome to Wales!
Hoping for another DNF

I just did my rally in one pice again. Wales is one of my favorite tracks so i know it a bit better and i did it almost without a crash. And this time recording was sucsessful.
I was getting hungry so no patience for all replays but still a few. https://www.twitch.tv/mad_rooky/v/79044832 Its also on YT but until twitch does not delete the video no need to watch there. Quality is lower anyway trough the export process... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ukoz32sJRU

holy shit, that looks quick. No way I can get close to that. I think I spend too much time having fun going sideways to go that quick. If I do try and go quick the forest just becomes a blur.

My driving skills are pretty much the opposite of mad-rooky and Jonah Hax. I look like a drunk on my replays. I'm still not good, but I was much worse before Jonah helped me with my settings in Dirt Rally. I still couldn't wait for my guide to say "to finish".

There are moments when I, at least, feel like I'm going quickly. More often than not I cant stay focused for very long and end up either backwards in a ditch or driving miss daisy. At least in the 60-80s cars my brain can just about keep up. The group Bs etc are just mental when I try and push. The game is still fun when looning around though. Thanks for the tips on motion blur but I fear that it occurs somewhere between my eyeballs and my brain

Just keep on guys, nobody is born as racedriver.
And Dirt Rally is not this hard, the physic is pretty easy, but the tracks are hard. If you dont know the tracks you cant be very fast!

with rain was very difficult to drive, the tires seem to sink into the mud ahahahah
Luckily I only had two minor accidents at night stage that they would not compromise the championship, attached a photo of the Stage 2 (21 July 2016, 10:07)mad-rooky Wrote: Just keep on guys, nobody is born as racedriver. 'Probably doesn't help then that every time I do one of these stages it's my first time there "100 long, hey is that a rabbit I saw there, 80 into 100, nice shirt you're wearing today, 60, ohh, and wait, yeah, caution hairpin 1 left"

Ok i know you dont take it serious, but there are really nasty places that destroy your car if you are not aware... Beating black is still another level...

and with the 70 I do not find me very well (low traction), you could to much better.
@mad-rookie very often put a lower gear than you should keep, what makes you lose traction and time. in Sweden it remains to be seen, in that they are not very experienced as that was added after

Ah dont take my driving style to serious there, first time with this car and no practice, so i tried to keep the rpm high as possible because it feels faster... and uphill it is, because there is no power... Sweden will be different because the snow, and im also not very experenced there. Will be interesting if i can finish one stage without spinning because the snow on the side...^^ But the 60 cars are slow and it should be easier than with modern rally cars.

I propose to do other leagues, because so every time you have to wait a week hahaha

Well I had some nasty offs and rolled 3 times, but the old girl got me to the end this time around. I had to sack my pit crew after their terrible maintenance of the car during the last round.
26 July 2016, 21:23
Well well well.. This is interesting. The other weeks I have practiced the tracks to prepare myself and I drove hard and ended up totalling my car in the end. This week I haven't praticed at all and on the first track I got first place!
The Wales stages are hard on the fps, especially the night stage with heavy rain. I dropped down to 91 fps at one point and even lower in replays for some reason. I hope the recordings still look ok. I recorded all runs, with replays as per usual, so I will upload them tonite. (spoiler alert: I finished second overall!) Stage 1. Caution! water splash. Stage 2. Caution! Right 2 tightens to 1. Stage 3. DO A BARREL ROLL! Stage 4. Caution! Dark and wet Stage 5. Mud. Mud everywhere. Stage 6. That's not a hairpin! Next week I will try harder!
26 July 2016, 21:45
Shit, you're moving up!
Maybe I will actually finish this time.. I am getting some "relaxed" tea before I do these runs to lower my blood pressure.. If you feel a light earthquake tomorrow morning, you know shit has gone wrong

Ok, the key to hearing/understanding the co-driver was turning up the volume. A lot.
Did a lot better, still fucked up some stages by early mistakes, contrary to late mistakes in the first and second week.

Well, I did my runs with 'Keyboard'. Results could be even worse. Got penalty about 6 times (6x15s) in last 4 stages.
Jonah- I guess fps drop due to rain and headlights not wales particularly. I switched off my headlights in the night stage because, I can't see a damn thing clearly with headlights. (My fps is below 30, I guess, in the night stage with headlights) |
