Alright, a small update, as we've reached 24 IN's and a few MAYBE's.
The people who have signed up with a MAYBE will be asked to sit out first (well, urged and pretty much binding). Of course, everyone has until 7:30 PM UK to change their status, only then I'll look into who has to sit out this race (if there are more than 24 sign-ups by then at all). Thanks again for flying Cosy, and see you guys in a bit!

Sorry boys, I'm going to have to change to out. I *may* have gotten zero hours of sleep trying to watch Imola today and feel like an absolute danger to be driving. I'm going for a good nap.
I'm praying Mosport doesn't get picked and I can get a crack at it next week. Good luck all!

Tough races for me this evening but at least I could take part in all of them this time.
Heat 1 was going really well. I had disappointing quali because I had theoretical of pole but I cut a blade of grass in my fastest lap. At the start I was able to fight my way forwards to p1 but then I got distracted from my mirrors and ran into a wall, this was the first of many times for off track adventures. I was in pretty much every position in the top 5 and endet up 3rd. In Heat 2 and 3 I lost my pace and concentration and fell backwards with some great lap long battles. I was barely in control but I had alot of fun overall. I envy the front end grip of the corvettes as I desperatly try to oversteer to turn in into corners XD

Turns out it's been two years since my last pole in a Sunday series; 28th October 2018, GT Club, Mas du Clos, Lotus Evora S, funnily enough back then the other six out of the top seven were.. Corvettes!
Thought I'd been in for kind of a bad day after recording highlights half of the afternoon and again eating late. Then I managed "the good lap", a 1:32.4xx, and with just one more chance I pushed a bit harder, except for turn 1.. Boom. 1:32.094! Heat 1 was a stressful one trying to stay ahead of Sleepwalker, and not letting a Merc reel me in. Made one gigantic mistake, which was enough to make a two-three second gap go away, and put Milvus right in front of me. Luckily he ran wide half a lap later, and from there on I defended Sleepwalker again. Very stressful race! Heat 2 I thought I was in for a more comfortable race, but even though I passed Ed and Offcorsa let me handle the Benzes, there was no way past. Every straight "Zee" pulled away, and all of the corners after I closed in, but no way past those! Heat 3 was beforehand "The Highlight", with four Benzes in my rear view. Turned out to be less stressful, as I quickly managed to get to fourth thanks to team orders, and managed a kind of not so nice pass on Fragmonkey which he didn't see that way happily (and didn't result in contact). Hoping that both Sleepwalker and Edtheshed would battle and slow down, while Fragmonkey kept the Merc squad in check only turned out half successful; didn't see a Merc again, but couldn't close the gap neither. Happy to get back into the title fight, while the team also did well today, nice work guys!
Fun stuff today, really enjoyed it, despite having a really tough time selecting the lines in some corners. T1 was always a hassle, but watching the replay it seems like I was nailing it quite well most of the time.
H1 started in 11th, followed fragmonkey most of the race from some distance. Climbed to 8th after seeing a few spins ahead of me, quite lucky. Pace wasn't that good, though. H2 started from pole, but ran wide in T2 and handed it over to Dima basically. Then the 3 SLSs lead the race until the end. I shortly let Stephen pass me, since he had a better pace this evening and had better chances on taking back 1st from Dima - which he did in 2nd to last lap i think. Meanwhile I was in 3rd and had Sven creeping up on me for the last third of the race. Somehow managed to hold him back and not make any mistakes, even though at times I had to slow down due to Dima and Stephen battling right ahead of me. That was tough. H3 started ok. I remember I was chasing Sven, then Frag. For 3 laps or so right after the back straight i tried to overtake Frag. 1st time I nearly took both of us out, even though I braked quite early. Cheers to giving some room and taking a slightly outer line, otherwise who knows what might have happened. 2nd try was again me on the inside, this time not so sketchy but no pass either. 3rd time I tried the outside after the straight - but touched the grass with my left tyres while braking, which sent me into an oversteer towards the inside where Frag was. Almost had it under control, but a slight contact with him sent me into snap-oversteer and then it was full on brakes so I won't hit the wall. Unlucky, since I lost a few positions there. Managed to recover 2 positions I think before the end by overtaking Stringer and Sixxx. https://imgur.com/a/5cMOwDl |
