Overall I had alot of fun despite missing out on Heat 1 and starting heat 2 last because my router seems to hate the Cosy server for some reason :/
Heat 1 was just a practice session basically hoping I would get at least some points but I'm not sure if the lap count is enough for points. Heat 2 I had alot of fun and was positivly surprised how good the "lower" grid was at racing wheel to wheel I dont remember any contacts appart from T1 but that was more of a racing incident. I later realized I shouldn't have pushed people in sector 2 and just wait for the more likely opportunitys on the straights. Heat 3 pretty much the same but fewer overtakes and some longer lasting battles. Thank you all and until next time guys
Great stuff today.
Didn't quali too high, but I gained some positions during H1 T1 without even trying due to being on the inside and some other factors (Gods?). Had a bit of a moment with B1gPappa where we had a contact in the corner after the straight, could barely catch the car. Maybe he thought I backed out because I braked early, but that's just what I had to in order to have both of us take that turn at once. After that it was just improving my driving a bit, because my pace wasn't there yet with only 2 laps of quali. H2 started 3rd i think. Again had the inside and found myself on the inside of Stephen going into T1 so I just stuck to that inside and came out in front. Had some reall weird 1s frame freezing during a few corners, that was sketchy AF. Really surprised I didn't go off track or spin. It happened every 30s or so, 1s of freezing, for about 1 lap. Then it was mainly chasing Dima the whole race. The SLS roadblock could have nearly made it home, if it weren't for that pesky Ed who overtook Stephen for 3rd. H3 was some driving (bad driving the first 1-2 laps). Then I managed to pass B1gPappa in T1, again just by really sticking that inside line and blasting on the exit. But right before that I have probably scratched Sleepwalker's mirror during braking into the last chicane. That was so close, I honestly thought there was more space, didn't realy intend to make it that close. Luckily no contact (at least on my PoV) ; Then it was mainly trying to stay ahead for 3-4 laps, which felt like forever. Nice racing, hope I didn't overblock, I was just trying to go as fast as I could and keep the damn thing within the lines. You were probably faster, but not lucky enough for me to make a significant mistake @Sleepwalker: i realized I closed a gap too much in the long left turn at the bottom of the hill forcing you to brake and touch the grass, apologies. I was trying to contain my small oversteers and I don't think I did it on purpose. Cheers for tapping the brakes, might have ended badly.

I would like to thank the team for their hard work this weekend, unfortunately we couldn't make it count.
Q: I was looking forward to Spa, for the challenge mostly. It's a bit tricky with the Porsche, because good corner exit is important given the many straights, but the Porsche likes to swing it's rear end out fast on swoopy corners if you don't balance it just right. Qualified 18th. H1: At race start there were a couple of CPU Occupancy warnings, and unfortunately in T1, the screen froze and when it unfroze, I had moved from the inside of the track all the way to the outside. Cheers to anyone who tapped the brakes to let the blue Porsche through. After that I slowly was gaining on Stringer and OldEarl, and I was looking for a Porsche battle. But before I got there, I had a stutter mid-corner and I spun out. Picked it up from last place, finished 18th. Spa must be a harder track for the PC, because I had lots of stutters and in general a low framerate, causing me to spin out a couple of times. H2: Lowered the gfx settings a bit. Racing was a bit smoother in general but still with tons of unexpected moments. I had fun driving, but didn't really pay attention to the race positions. Just had a sweaty race, focussed to keep the car on track. Finished 17th. H3: Lowered gfx even more, about as low as possible. The game transformed into Outrun, the sim and with that, smoother racing started. Things went pretty well, but at some point, I got into contact with Thatdanield and we yeeted eachother off hard. It was mutual driver error, we were side by side into Eau Rouge and we both thought we weren't. After that, my suspension was banged up and I limped the 911 home. We talked it through and it's all okay. We both thought we were to blame for the incident. I'm not entirely sure if Mr. Urlauber got caught in the incident, if so, sorry. Cheers for Thatdanield to for checking up again after the race making sure I was ok (I was ). Finished 19th. We'll go into winter testing and hope to come out with some new parts that will give us extra speed. (read: I'm going to buy a new pc to leave this stuttering !@#$ behind ) Two notes regarding the driving:

Very positive round for me, and another solid, no drama points haul in the mid-pack.
Unfortunately I only have the replay for H3 (settings issue - now fixed) Can anyone please share/link the replays for heats 1&2? There were some fantastic battles with Stringer, Nate and Grant that I'd like to take a look at!

Spa.
I love Spa as much as S4b1n loves race car. I think. Nah, it wasn't that bad. I felt a bit off the pace as most of the stuff in qualifying was just "slower than I could". In heat 1 I was at some point stuck behind (or did I stay there because of the draft?) the group with Offcorsa in it. Didn't want to pass him as at that point there was no use in "doing it for the points" anymore, but he let me by. Ended up also passing Fragmonkey, that I do remember as I was wishing it was Edtheshed. In the end I saw my Canadian friend bin it on the last lap in true honor of the aforementioned driver-I-wished-I-passed. Heat 2 there might have been some stuff going on, but I hardly remember. Ow yeah, that pesky Urlauber was in my way most of the race! Managed to get by the entire group while they screwed up Eau Rouge side by side, then stuck the outside pass on the corner right after on Zombie with four cars breathing heavily down my barely functioning four tail pipes. No way of catching up the others, and managed to defend Zombie. Almost caught the Pappa Pump, maybe on another lap.. Heat 3 was following Zombie and Offcorsa from pretty early on. By the time I got close to Offcorsa, Zombie got some kind of penalty. I once again reminded Offcorsa to "do his fucking job", but in nicer words, and continue reeling in the points. After a lap or two that more of less turned out into watching my rear view mirror for track limit breaches of the car behind me. The first one-two for the Spaak/Jake connection! And even had the fastest lap of the heat The incident stats showed me (I'll share them at the end of the series) that I only had three contacts in the entire evening! As much as S4b1n, who loves race car. It seems full circles are round.

You ok there, Sven?

I'm delighted that Sven can go from "structured, wise, calm, community leader" to "unhinged racing poetry spouting visionary" over the course of a race evening.

hahaha track limit breaches... fuck
for real tho, it wasn't that bad. I watched back my whole races! lol guess we'll see what the stewards have to say |
