Had a good qualifying and managed 10th or 11th, can't quite remember.
My goal this week was to keep things clean and not bump into anyone, so I was driving as safe as possible while still keeping decent pace.
In Heat 1, I made 2 places after an incident in front of me, but I was lightly nudged off track at turn 11 and fell back to 9th. After a few good laps, I was back in contention and up to 8th. I couldn't bridge the 0.5 second gap to Dima but on the last lap, into the last chicane, he went in deep and I got a really good drive and managed to pass cleanly before the last corner. I tried to keep half the car on the track as per the rules and think i judged it just right.
I just needed to keep it clean through the final turn for a 7th place finish, while stopping an undercut, which I managed, just...
Thrilled with that result and much more than I expected given my limited time in Sim Racing.
Not much to write home about in the next two races, I started 2nd due to the reverse grid for Heat 2 but an unforced error put my rear tire on the grass and I lost 5 places. I was punted off track a little later on and ended up towards the back of the grid after having to let most of the field pass before I could return to track safely.
Had to start almost at the back of the field, for Heat 3, almost on the final bend, and had a similar incident to Race 2 that I couldn't avoid.
I decided to keep going and had fun chasing people down and trying to get by safely. Some hairy incidents in front of me helped gain a few places but it was a bit of a write-off, truth be told.
I felt much better after this session and certainly learned a lot, and hope to be able to carry this forward into future races.
For those interested, here is the pass on Dima:
