Tough but great racing yesterday!
Q: Couldn't quite get the perfect lap, but it was still pretty good! 1st by a couple tenths.
H1: A good getaway off the line from Zombie behind me in 3rd meant I had to defend into t1. I really had to get to the right side of the track early, otherwise he would've had me! But I got there ahead of him, so I had the inside. After that, I just got my head down til the finish. P1
H2: Good start, managed to get past Zombie in t2, which I think was pretty crucial. Also crucial was when I got past Dane. He was making it tough, but after a mistake, I got past. My teammate Frag was fighting against Milvus and Sleepwalker. He did really well to hold them up a bit. Just as they got past him, I caught up, and he let me through, ty! Because of that, I could attack. Sleepwalker was super unlucky with the netcode. Really sorry for that man. P3
H3: Didn't make up as many places this time, settled in behind Stringer with Sven behind me. Going into the hairpin left, I had to brake to avoid the concertina and damn you Sven, he sneaked past me. I gave one more bump to Stringer in the chicane for the same reason. Sorry man! He put a tyre on the green on the exit of t2 so went wide in t3 and I got past. Frag let me through again, too kind! Up ahead was Sven, Zombie and Stephen. I caught up to the back and tried to make some moves. I almost made a collision with Zombie into t1 but he saw I was coming and evaded. On the final lap, I managed to get to the inside of t3 and we were alongside for about 3 corners before I made the move stick. Tried to pressure Stephen, who had been passed by Sven, maybe a cheeky pass into the final chicane, but he closed the door. P3
The vette was really good at Catalunya. The straight line speed deficit to the SLS was more than made up for by the cornering speed. But my best lap was 1/100th slower than Stringer in the 911! great lap man. The corvette is just easier to get to that lap-time than the 911 though, and it's more consistent. I wonder how much the track played into it...
