Right, it's looking to be a packed grid today, so for the relatively new guys among us (also for future races):
Please don't treat the first corner as just that corner like you would for the remainder of the race; better to brake a bit earlier but NOT full braking so you have some margin if something bad happens; this also gives the car behind you some time to react. Please hold your line and as our guidelines state: keep battles and overtakes to a bare minimum. Most importantly: return position when your (reasonably avoidable) fault causes someone to leave the track, spin or lose a position. Again, you can find our (today updated) guidelines here: http://cosyracingcommunity.com/thread-994.html The skin pack will be up around 7 PM UK, everything else is already taken care off (I've received the skins of Zombie Force, Flying Seagull, Unknown Variable, Team Chaos and Johnniedarko already). Have fun later on!

Well that was some good racing! A few teething problems, but given the size of the field, (I believe it's a record sven?) and week 1 shenanigans (I include myself in the blame for that, sorry sven!), it still went great.
Quali obviously has the strict track limits, but in the races I was really focussing on keeping half the car within the white lines. I definitely wasn't perfect, especially when you can't see the apex because the car in front is in the way lol but I feel I was a lot better than before. Hopefully our great leader sven is pleased, lest he bring his wrath down upon me once more Q: I was pretty lucky tbh. I made a few mistakes, went on the grass a couple times, and my fastest lap wasn't anywhere near perfect, but still managed to get 2nd, by 1/1000th to stephen! H1: I was even more lucky at the start of this! I got off the line well, and had stringer in the 911 behind which does better off the line. I was too focussed on him and missed my braking point by about 10 metres, understeered to the outside of the track between Milvus and stephen! It was too close, and could have been a lot worse. Managed to settle in behind stephen and took advantage of a slow exit from the final chicane to get past. I had a ~1.5s gap in front to milvus, put in some good laps and got to the back of him. Following behind the merc, I could really see the differences to the vette. The merc is worse in the slow and fast corners, and makes it's time back on the straights, and it's slightly worse on the brakes. Milvus looked to be having a lot of fun, getting the back out a lot. The vette does get into oversteer on occasion, and it's pretty manageable, even when it surprises you. I put the pressure on, getting really close a couple times, but he defended really well. P2 H2: A good heat for Bolt. Gz on your first win frag. The start went well, settled in behind the pack. I think I got past Sven, but then he got an overtake back on me. Then up ahead, I think he tangled with someone? can't remember who... and I gained a couple positions. After getting past stephen with Milvus right behind me, there was about 5 seconds to sleepwalker and frag at the front. Milvus had an opportunity to get past, but I defended well. Once I didn't have to defend, I tried to close to the leaders, but with only a couple laps to go, there was no chance. P3 H3: This heat was incredible. Such good racing with the boys: Dima, Zombie, Sleepwalker, Milvus and myself, in an epic 5 way battle. At one point sleepwalker was behind me, then 1 lap later was 3 positions ahead. I traded a couple positions, but in general found it quite hard to overtake. When I had a good side-by-side chance, I would end up losing a position instead of gaining! I was pressuring Zombie, and gave him a good tap in stowe (sry mate, not that it mattered too much, with your p2 ), sending him off line. He closed the gap to the 2 cars ahead, and I couldn't follow and I think after milvus made a mistake and I got past him, he then got past me again. Final corner, final lap, sleepwalker got dima round, gained 2 more positions. UL dima. P4 gr all x

Props!
I don't recall having had 24 cars before, so yep, that's a record! Despite being fully prepared it turns out I made a typo in the fixed setups on the entry list (an underscore made the difference). The good thing is that anything that goes wrong in week 1 cannot go wrong anymore in the remainder of the series. My first heat was a bit of a cold start, but second and third were good. Legs were a bit shaky from all the orga stress, but by the last lap on heat 1 I was on normal pace again. Heat 2 and 3 were good fun, but I feel the best has yet to come!

Again, I want to apologise to Zombie and Fragmonkey.
I had made an assumption that the Merc had to brake a lot earlier than the rest, but clearly the difference is not that big. I tapped the rear of Zombie in H3 on the way into Copse. Sorry. Then, I put Fragmonkey into a spin for the very same reason going into T1. Sorry. Although we did have some good close battles after that. --- For me, a weekend that started well, and went backwards from there. Qualified P3 and finished P4. Then kept going down the grid in each heat. P6 in H2, and P10 in H3. So for me, I need to improve on my race consistency in terms of both pace and errors. --- However, this first week was really good fun and I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the season. Cheers Ste

ed / Ste - seriously don't worry, I deserved the knocks and bumps after shoulder barging Dima off the track in race 1. I didn't think it was my fault at the time (it was) but I was doubting my ability a lot afterwards and it's the reason I slowed down in R2 to let you past sven. The 5 way battle in race 3 that Ed talks about was truly epic and so intense - the reason why sim racing and this community is so damn fun!
