Cheerios again!
Once again, I'd like to point out to take it easy on the first few corners; these are pre season races, and I'm very, very interested in seeing how the cars perform relative to each other; (unintentionally) pretty much ending the race for a few cars doesn't help. Once again from our guidelines: "Safety is the most important part of the first corners; keep battles and overtakes to a minimum." Same goes for the extreme reverse grids in pre season; these are meant to give the people who are usually at the back more chances of side by side racing and gain experience without the "series pressure". Go easy on them, as they're likely not used to three wides or last second side by sides. Built up throughout the race. Enjoy the thrill of the hunt That aside: NEW SETUP for the Porsche. Which is actually almost the same setup as in the GT Club series a few years back. Which is not really how you should set up a Porsche, I think(?), but it works really well on AC Give it a try; Fragmonkey recommends.

Sorry I couldn't make it, will hopefully be there on Sunday.
Question to all: How was the Porsche and the Merc's new setups?

The overall grip of the Porsche has improved so acceleration out of corners is better; braking distance is still good and top speed is mostly comparable to the other two cars except on exceptionally long straights where it loses out to the Merc. It being a rear engine car it still dislikes brake application mid corner. Overall a huge improvement from Sunday. The Merc's only real issue now is that it tends to suffer from a longer braking zone if you're too heavy/sudden on the brakes, expect a few overshoots into the run-off areas until you get a feel for it. Much like the Corvette it will wear it's tires if you stamp the throttle but a huge improvement from Sunday. As the cars stand it's going to be quite hard to pick a car for the series. The Corvette may be easier to drive initially but experience will mean the Merc and Porsche will most likely come on strong once drivers get used to their respective quirks. |
