Yeah I'm sorry Sven, entirely my fault on that re-join. After drifting onto the grass on corner 6 I lost control as I attempted to coast along side the track. It wasn't so much an attempt to re-join as a it was to try to get out of the sand pit before my car bogged down. Unfortunately I used just enough throttle to launch the car out of the sand and into a slide. I slid back onto the track on the brakes with just enough momentum to collect you as you went by.
I hope we do another of these events soon, I spent all week practicing the track; learning the LMP car, building a tire degradation and fuel usage plan. I'd worked out a pit strategy to leave me with a sprint at the end with soft tires and a light fuel load. It was going to be epic.
But I should have dropped out on Sunday morning when I realised I was going to be home late from seeing my family. It was a long and difficult day, and I arrived back exhausted and annoyed with less than 20 mins left before the race started. I was in no state to race for 90 minutes in a hypercar but I didn't want to miss out on such a fantastic race that I'd put so much prep into.
Again, my apologies Sven, I really didn't intend to force a re-join and collect your car, it was just a lapse in concentration.
